Suspension Cohorts

House of Knotty Suspension Cohorts

Each cohort will be 6-8 people (3-4 tying pairs). Rope tops are strongly encouraged to have the same tying partner for each class but not a requirement.

The overarching theme is rope suspension through the lens of sustainable, whimsical, and performative suspensions. The 6-class curriculum is designed for people's first suspension, people newer to suspension, and/or experienced riggers needing to refresh suspension fundamentals.

Classes will be held monthly for 6 months, with each class lasting 2 hours. You have to commit to all 6 classes since the skills from each class build on each other. There will also be required homework/practice drills to work on between classes. You will be surveyed below to see which dates/times work best for you before we start. I will then notify you once a cohort with similar availability and skill level has been made to set the official 6 dates before we begin.

The total fee is $600 per tying pair. You do not need to pay until the official schedule of your cohort has been finalized.

Equipment needed: You will need to have about 6-10 hanks of rope (25-30ft) each depending on your model. You will need rope with an elasticity suitable for suspension such as jute, hemp, or solid nylon. Hard points and suspension points with carabiners will be provided.
